A playpen can create a handy supervised play space at home, at a grandparent’s house or during a family stay. The useful choice is the one that fits your room, folds without fuss and matches your child’s stage.

1. Measure the floor space
Mark out the external dimensions in the room before ordering, including space to walk around it. Also check the internal play area so you understand how much usable room your child will have.

2. Decide whether it needs to travel

3. Check visibility and access
Mesh sides help you keep an eye on your child and allow airflow. A zipped side opening can be convenient when used exactly as instructed; always make sure it is secured correctly before placing your child inside.
4. Read the age and weight limits
Do not choose by appearance alone. Check the manufacturer’s instructions, weight limit and assembly steps. The current Quadra listing states a limit of up to 15 kg and EN 12227 approval; stop using it when the instructions say it is no longer suitable.
5. Plan a safe spot for supervised play
Set it up on a stable, level floor away from heaters, cords, windows and furniture your child could reach. Keep the inside clear of large toys or objects that could be used for climbing, and inspect the frame, fabric and locking points regularly.
